Private Tunes

To be genuinely useful for managing real people's real collections, we have to be able to keep some tunes private. We all have material we don't want anyone else to see, for whatever reason (copyright would be one very good one). On the other hand, it's no use, or fun, if everybody keeps everything hidden; especially for a site like this, which aims to make tunes accessible. So the site policy is that you can keep a fixed proportion (50%) of your tunes private, and the rest are public. Think of it as the fee for using the facilities - after all, there's no other charge.

Tunes will be marked 'public' by default, tick the tick-box to make them private.

Similarly, you may not want the rest of the world to see everything you write about your tunes. Some of the things I've typed up include various notes that would be completely meaningless and/or useless to anyone else, and I daresay the same might be true for others, too. So use the configuration option to hide them.
